Druids Glen Golf Course - Par 71 - 7,026 Yards
The emergence of Druids Glen golf course as one of Ireland's premier parkland courses has been nothing short of astonishing. Opened in 1995 it hosted the Irish Open Championship from 1996-1999 (and was the scene of Sergio Garcia's first professional title).
The owners comissioned Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock to design a spectacualr golf course in the grounds on an old estate. The budget was unlimited and the two master craftsmen produced a design that is referred to as the Augusta of Europe. Already a peaceful and scenic location, the name derives from a stone altar used for pre-Christian worship, the golf course now incorporates stunning floral displays at every turn.
