Northern Links - Typical Itinerary

7 Nights & 7 Rounds of Golf - from €1149 per person

Day 1 - Castlerock Golf Club
Meet with Tailor-Made Golf Tour representative or chauffeur on arrival. Transfer to Bushmills, County Antrim. Check-in to accommodation and then take the short drive to Castlerock Golf Club. This is the first of three classic links courses within a few miles of each other along the northern coast, and though often regarded as the poor relation it justifiably claims a place in the list of great Irish links courses. A classic links with superb seaside views, Castlerock will provide a great opener to this links golf tour. Overnight in Bushmills.

Royal Portrush - one of the world's best coursesDay 2 - Portstewart Golf Club
The second classic golf links, the Strand Course at Portstewart Golf Club plays along 2 miles of sandy beach, with the first hole widely regarded as the best opening hole in Ireland. Portstewart provides a stern but very fair test of links golf and the greens are always superb. Overnight in Bushmills.

Day 3 - Royal Portrush Golf Club
The final links on the Causeway Coast is the Dunluce links at Royal Portrush Golf Club. Portrush is consistently ranked as one of the world's best courses. Royal Portrush will reward the golfer who thinks carefully around the course. Last night in Bushmills.

Day 4 - Old Course at Ballyliffin Golf Club
Cross the Foyle estuary by ferry and take the short drive to the first of three well-kept golfing secrets in County Donegal. Ballyliffin golf club boasts 36 magnificent links holes in the far north of the Insihowen peninsula. Todays round is on the Old Course, a traditional links layout that Nick Faldo was so impressed by he offered to buy the club. Overnight Letterkenny, one of Ireland's fastest growing towns.

Day 5 - Portsalon Golf Club
North of Letterkenny, on the eastern shore of the Fanad peninsula by the shores of Ballymastocker Bay overlooking Lough Swilly, is Portsalon Golf Club. This is a marvellous links, recently (2003) updated by the renowned Irish architect Pat Ruddy. As well as a terrific golf course, Portsalon has a charm that make the golfer relaise what golf was like in the late 19th century when this great links was first played. Return to Letterkenny.

Day 6 - Sandy Hills Links at Rosapenna
Ballyliffin Golf Club - the second green on the Glashedy courseOne of Ireland's newest links was designed by Pat Ruddy (The European Club) through the dunes at Rosapenna Golf Club. Where Old Tom Morris designed the Old course between the dunes and the sea, Pat Ruddy has designed 18 holes right through the middle of them. The result represents the best of modern links architecture, with elevated greens well protected by bunkers eliminating any possibility of the 'bump and run'. Severe test but tremendous fun. Overnight in Letterkenny.

Day 7 - Glashedy Course at Ballyliffin
Another Ruddy design, the Glashedy golf links at Ballyliffin Golf Club simply another great links golf course. It provides an excellent contrast between traditional (Old Course) and newer links designs - and Glashedy is definitely tougher. Course management is at a premium here, with stiff penalties for poor shotmaking - such as the bunker on the 2nd hole pictured right. Final night in Letterkenny.

Day 8 - Departure
Transfer to airport for onward departure.
