A passion to bring you the best Ireland golf packages is the driving force behind Tailor-Made Golf Tours. In particular golf at courses where the international spotlight has not yet fallen but offer superb scenery, hospitality and most of all, a golf experience to treasure. As well as golf, our packages include accommodation and transport - tailor-made to your needs. Accommodation can be from the wealth of wonderful local B&Bs to luxurious 5***** hotels and castle retreats. Transport by way of coach and driver or hire-car will be arranged to ensure your comfort as you travel between courses.
In addition to the above you will be provided with an information pack with places-of-interest, where to eat and drink, local festivals and activities for the non-golfer in the areas you frequent. Our goal is to make your holiday as comfortable and rewarding as possible by paying attention to the individual needs of each party.
Quite simply they offer the best value-for-money golf possible. Nearly all the courses have been designed by internationally recognised architects such as Old Tom Morris, James Braid, Harry Vardon, Eddie Hackett, Christy O' Connor Jnr and Pat Ruddy. With such an illustrious list of names you know that you will be presented with an intriguing and challenging course on which to test your skill. Golf apart the scenery in these areas is spectacular. The west and north-west regions provides natural links courses nestled between the mighty Atlantic Ocean and the local rugged mountains of Connemara and Donegal while the lake bejewelled midlands offer some of the oldest and charming parkland courses in the world.
When travelling abroad or to an area you have not been before, one of the most valuable assets you should not be without is...local knowledge. So often holiday makers rely on glossy brochures or tour organizers who are more interested in their own agenda to plan their holiday, only to miss the essence of what they wanted to experience. Tailor Made Tours offer you genuine local knowledge. With a combined 75years golfing experience between us we have chosen only the best courses for you to enjoy. Not only have we established relationships with golf clubs but also with accommodation and transport providers. Such is our attention to detail we will not book any party into accommodation we have not personally inspected and approved.
From our initial contacts where we detail your group's requirements to the final farewell, we strive to ensure that everything is in place. From handling all organisation and logistical issues to providing you with detailed tour itineraries and helpful information, we are always available to answer your questions. Unfortunately we can't control the weather, but anything else that we can do to make your trip is our business.
Finally, we would like to stress the attributes of quality, value and enjoyment that are the integral themes of all our tours.
Peter O'Sullivan has played golf for 45 years now and is a member of Cobh Golf Club near Cork. He has played golf all over the world and has played nearly every course featured on this website -- the few remaining are not long for remaining. Favourite course in Ireland is Carne (the old Hackett links) or the Old Links at Ballyliffin. Favourite Irish golf destination is Donegal Town although the Grand Hotel in Malahide has a lot going for it. Favourite overseas courses are Machrihanish (Scotland), Royal Dornoch (Scotland), Narooma (Australia) and Mount Bruno (Quebec, Canada).
Courses yet to be played include Bandon Dunes, Cabot Cape Breton and Pinehurst. And to visit old friends in Seattle, Oregon, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah and Atlanta! Unsure if I've forgiven Pebble Beach for the 1999 fiasco...
Ambition is to start at Pine Valley (walk the course on Crump Cup Day) and then spend 365 days travelling the U.S. playing golf 4 or 5 times a week in each of the 48 mainland states.
