About Tailor-Made Golf Tours

The Company

Tailor-Made Golf Tours Ltd was founded in 2003 and originally intended to promote the 'hidden gems' of Ireland, especially the terrific links courses of northwest Ireland and the amazing parkland courses of southeast and midland Ireland, the demand for properly organised, lower cost golf packages to the top-tier links led us to expand the website and cater to mainly first time visitors seeking the initial 'southwest swing'.

Since our foundation the the company has survived the economic downturn of 2008-2009, the pandemic and the current upward price trend caused chiefly by unprecedented demand for golf travel, but also other factors including the Ukrainian war. In our 21 years we have organised golf tours for clients from all over the world and are proud of our reputation as being the golf tour operator of chice when it comes to clear, unbiased advice on all matters related to golf in Ireland.

Peter O'Sullivan

Peter O'Sullivan has played golf for 45 years now and is a member of Cobh Golf Club near Cork. He has played golf all over the world and has played nearly every course featured on this website -- the few remaining are not long for remaining. Favourite course in Ireland is Carne (the old Hackett links) or the Old Links at Ballyliffin. Favourite Irish golf destination is Donegal Town although the Grand Hotel in Malahide has a lot going for it. Favourite overseas courses are Machrihanish (Scotland), Royal Dornoch (Scotland), Narooma (Australia) and Mount Bruno (Quebec, Canada).

Courses yet to be played include Bandon Dunes, Cabot Cape Breton and Pinehurst. And to visit old friends in Seattle, Oregon, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah and Atlanta! Unsure if I've forgiven Pebble Beach for the 1999 fiasco...

Ambition is to start at Pine Valley (walk the course on Crump Cup Day) and then spend 365 days travelling the U.S. playing golf 4 or 5 times a week in each of the 48 mainland states.
