Moriarty Advances to Qualifying School Finals 7th November 2004: Colm Moriarty, a member of Athlone Golf Club, qualified for the finals of the European Tour Qualifying School with a birdie at the first playoff hole at the Stage 2 finals at El Bosque Golf & Country Club in Spain yesterday. Moriarty (71, 69, 70, 72) shot a final round 72 to tie with seven other players on 282. As it turned out, this resulted in a playoff between the eight players for 3 remaining places at next weeks finals. Colm produced the goods with a birdie at the first playoff hole. We wish him luck at next weeks finals at The San Roque Club in Cadiz, Spain. Previously he had won the South of Ireland championship (Lahinch Golf Club), the Midland Scratch Cup (Mullingar Golf Club) and in 2003 won both the New South Wales stokeplay and matchplay titles in Australia. |
