Getting to Ireland by Air

From the U.S.A. and Canada
All direct flights from the U.S.A. and Canada arrive at both Shannon and Dublin airports. An exception is the direct Aer Lingus flight from Los Angeles that does not stop at Shannon. Full list of available routes.

Update September 2004: Continental Airways have announced a new service from Newark to Belfast International airport. For golfers visiting the northern courses this can improve access, especially if Continental will allow return from either Dublin or Shannon.

North American visitors may also consider routing through London Heathrow.

From the U.K.
Ireland is well served by air routes from all major and regional U.K. airports. Full list of available routes.

Update November 2004: Ryanair have announced new services between London Gatwick and Knock and between Liverpool and both Cork and Shannon.

From Continental Europe
Dublin is the principal arrival point for flights from continental Europe although there are a number of routes to Belfast, Cork and Shannon airports. Full list of available routes.

Internal Routes
Aer Arann operate flights between Dublin and Shannon, Cork and the regional airports at Galway, Kerry, Knock, Sligo, Donegal and City of Derry.
